The festival will bring together a wide array of accomplished photographers from Southern California and will showcase the work of renowned photographic artists and photojournalists. Our goal is to celebrate photography and it’s impact on our world.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The main emphasis of the festival will be the workshops, demonstrations and seminars held over the four-day period. These events are free, open to students and the general public as well, and are suitable for all levels of expertise. The festival will feature a Photography contest that is open to all LBCC students as well as a “juniors” section for high school students. The Friday evening exhibition and reception will showcase work from the LBCC photography program as well as reveal the photography contest winners.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;                                                                                                                                     &lt;strong&gt;Dates and Locations&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Festival Seminars will be held at the Pacific Coast Campus Photography facility of Long Beach City College from Wednesday April 1st to Saturday April 4th, 2009. The campus is located at 1305 E. Vinci&lt;br /&gt;This workshop will offer an introduction to applying for artists grants, submitting portfolios for on line zines, and portfolio reviews. The session will cover artist statements, resumes, and preparing the necessary files for submission. Samples of successful packets, and a list of organizations and url’s to get you started will also be covered.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;                                            &lt;a name="photogram" id="photogram"&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Photogram - Painting  with Light&lt;/strong&gt; presented by Victoria Sanchez&lt;br /&gt;A hands on darkroom workshop. Photograms are images made without camera or film.  In the darkroom we will place “found” objects such as leaves, flowers, tissue and fabric over light sensitive photographic paper.  Using the enlarger as a light source, solid items will appear white against a black background, while translucent objects will appear as shades of gray. &lt;/p&gt;                      &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;a name="developing" id="developing"&gt;&lt;/a&gt;Developing a Photo Project&lt;/strong&gt; a presentation by Douglas Stockdale&lt;br /&gt;Fine art photographic exhibitions and books are increasing  project or series oriented. Includes basic tutorials in uploading work to free online presence providers as well as exploring the process of reserving a URL, selecting paid web host services, and designing and programming effective personal photographic website.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;                    &lt;a name="split"&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Split Toning in the B&amp;amp;W  darkroom&lt;/strong&gt; presented by Ray Carofano&lt;br /&gt;Students will learn how to add richness and luminosity to there prints using sepia and selenium while at the same time making them archival.
